The Schools Environment Programme is run as an island-wide competition. Schools fall into either senior or junior sections depending on the age of the students, and are judged in an island wide process in May of each year. The best schools attend a national awards ceremony in June and prizes are awarded. Students perform songs and skits as well as mount displays of their work at the ceremony.
