International Beach Clean-up Day. October 23, 2004
After the recent passage of Hurricane Ivan, International Beach Clean-up day has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 23rd at the Palisadoes strip. Over 800 volunteers participated in last year's event and JET would like to encourage everyone to join us between the hours of 8:00 am and 11:30 am. Tools, gloves and a snack will be provided. Last year, reggae super star Sean Paul worked alongside volunteers to clean debris from the Palisadoes coastline.
A beach clean-up training session will be conducted on the 20th of October at the Terra Nova Hotel at 4:00 pm. All are welcome.
Transportation to the strip has been arranged to leave the Clock Tower Plaza at Half Way Tree Road and Campion College at the entrance of Hopefield Ave. at 7:00 a.m. sharp. Contact JET to book a spot as spaces are limited. If you have your own transportation you can just show up at the strip between 8:00 and 11:00 am.
