Are you concerned that prospecting or mining might be allowed in Cockpit Country?

This is what you can do:- 

(1)     Add your name to the on line petition at http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/848967167?ltl=1169671985

(2)      Ask your friends to do so as well. 

(3)     Send us a donation, no matter how small.  Cheques should be made payable to the Jamaica Environment Trust, with a clear notation “Cockpit Country campaign.”  Donations can also be made directly to any branch of First Caribbean International Bank, Account No.  1001600873, Jamaica Environment Trust. 

(4)     Write a letter of concern or objection to the newspapers

(5)     Write to the Minister of Agriculture and Lands, Hon. Roger Clarke stating your concerns 

(6)     Write to your Member of Parliament  

(7)     If you are in contact with any senior government official or senior private sector representative, raise the issue with them 

(8)     Send us a short paragraph on your experiences in Cockpit Country.  We are compiling “Voices from Cockpit Country” to use in our campaign. 

(9)     Volunteer your expertise.  Are you a graphic designer?  A lawyer?  Can you fund raise?  Make sandwiches?  Whatever your expertise, tell us about it and we will let you know how you can help. 

(10) Inform yourself.  You can find information about the ‘Save Cockpit Country’ campaign and the Cockpit Country Stakeholders Group at:
